An Introduction to Tantric Philosophy and Practice    The promise of tantra is to breathe vitality into daily life and infuse our body, mind, and life with more beauty, joy, happiness, and courage. Practice of the techniques of tantra create a world where the sacred and the mundane are held together in a harmonious balance. Guiding practitioners to organize life in a meaningful way, enabling us to examine habits and burn karmic impurities making our mind clear, our intellect sharp, and allow our emotions to flow freely.     Learn about Tantric practice through experiential stories of Jayme’s own practice as well as her time with her teacher, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, Tantric master from the Sri Vidya tradition and Spiritual Head of the Himalayan Institute.. Jayme traveled the country with her teacher on his 72 city book tour for the Secret of the Yoga Sutra commentary on chapter 1 of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra and lived closely with her teacher for 3 years.     We will discuss sutras 1.34-1.36 and the practices involved. Our practice will involve asanas to prepare the body for a preparatory pranayama sequence and meditation on the Lotus of the Heart.  Said to remove the veil covering the Inner Light and connect the practitioner to a state of consciousness free from sorrow.
